Drama as Man Fights Off Leopard with Bare Hands at Worksite in India (Video)
There was serious drama in India’s Uttar Pradesh state after a man, identified as Mihilal, faced a life-threatening encounter with a leopard and fought it off using only his bare hands.
The incident, which has now gone viral after it was shared online by Indian politician Akhilesh Yadav, happened on Monday, June 23, in Jugunpur village, located within the Dhaurahara forest area.
According to reports from the forest department, the 35-year-old man from Girdhari Purwa community was going about his normal duties at a brick kiln when the unexpected happened. Unknown to him and his fellow workers, a wild leopard had been hiding inside the chimney of the kiln.
Trouble started when Mihilal moved closer to the structure. Out of nowhere, the leopard jumped out and pounced on him.
Surprisingly, Mihilal didn’t take to his heels. Instead, he faced the animal head-on, struggling with it using his hands. His brave reaction caught the attention of other workers, who quickly rushed to the scene.
The workers joined forces and began hurling bricks and stones at the animal. This forced the leopard to flee into a nearby banana farm.
Shortly after, the villagers alerted forest officials, who launched a manhunt. During the operation, some officers reportedly sustained injuries before they were finally able to track down and capture the wild cat.
