Four Sisters Die in North Carolina House Fire

A tragic fire in North Carolina has claimed the lives of four little sisters, all between the ages of 2 and 7. The fire broke out around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, at their home on North Colony Road. Sadly, no adults were in the house at the time.

Two 12-year-old girls, one of them a sister to the others, managed to escape. They quickly called 911, and within seven minutes the Sheriff’s Office and Chadbourn Rescue team were on the scene. But by then, the fire had already taken over the house, making it impossible for rescuers to get inside.

The victims have been identified as Kendall, Kalani, Josie, and Sophia. Their deaths have shaken the entire Columbus County community. A GoFundMe has been launched by residents Ansley Hayes and B. Tyler Grainger to support the family.

“It is with heavy hearts that we share the devastating news of the tragic loss of Kendall, Kalani, Josie, and Sophia,” they wrote on the fundraiser page.

The girls’ mother has been identified as Reagan Powers. Many in the community who knew her and the children have described the girls as “beautiful souls” who brought joy and love to everyone around them.
