IDF Vows to Continue Offensive Until Hezbollah Is Disarmed

The Chief of Staff of the Israeli Defense Forces, Eyal Zamir, has declared that Israel will not halt its latest military campaign in Lebanon until Hezbollah is fully disarmed and the threat from the north is eliminated.

Speaking during a security assessment along Israel’s northern border, Lt. Gen. Zamir made it clear that the military remains firm in its objective. According to statements released by the Israel Defense Forces, the army is prepared to continue its offensive operations until Hezbollah no longer poses a danger.

Zamir stressed that Israel’s primary focus remains Iran, describing ongoing operations against what he called a “terror regime.” He noted that Israeli forces are carrying out strikes with significant intensity and highlighted what he described as unprecedented coordination with the United States military.

However, following renewed hostilities from Hezbollah, Zamir said he directed the military to escalate its response in Lebanon as well. He emphasized that the IDF is fully prepared to fight on multiple fronts simultaneously.

The Israeli military chief also criticized the Lebanese authorities, stating that both the government and the national army had received repeated warnings to disarm Hezbollah but failed to take action. As a result, he said Israel would ensure that not only Iran but also Hezbollah suffers what he described as a severe blow before the campaign concludes.

Reaffirming Israel’s stance, Zamir insisted that disarming Hezbollah remains a non-negotiable demand. He added that operational plans targeting the group have been in place for some time and that the military is ready to capitalize on the current situation.

The message from Israel’s top military commander was clear: the campaign will continue until the threat from Lebanon is fully removed.
