Israeli Settlers Riot and Burn Down Security Setup in the West Bank

A night, a group of Israeli settlers stormed and caused trouble right outside the Binyamin Regional Brigade military base in the West Bank. They were angry because live bullets were used on Friday night when some rioters attacked an army patrol.

Now, the same protesters are saying they want the military to go after the battalion commander who was involved. They claimed he used live rounds, but the truth is — he was actually attacked by the settlers and didn’t fire any shots.

In another separate case that same night, the commander of an army patrol had to fire warning shots after he and his team got ambushed by stone-throwing settlers.

The protesters didn’t just stop there. They went on to damage vehicles and spray pepper spray at security officers. Border Police had to step in to break things up.

That same night, some settlers went ahead and burnt down a major security facility in the Ramallah area, the kind used to stop terror attacks and help with the safety of the place. The army said the damage is now a serious risk to the people living around there.

After everything that happened, Defense Minister Israel Katz said he’s calling for an emergency meeting today with the security heads. He said this kind of action by Jewish extremists must stop immediately.

“We’ll deal with this once and for all. No one is allowed to raise a hand against IDF soldiers or any security force,” Katz said in a statement.

Recently, these kinds of attacks from settlers on soldiers and forces have been happening more and more. Just last week, they went on a rampage in a Palestinian village, and now they’ve brought the fight to the army’s front door by rioting and burning military property.
