KWAM 1 Blocks Plane in Abuja, NCAA Petitions Police Over Airport Drama
The Nigeria Police Force says it has received a formal petition from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) over an incident involving Fuji star Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, better known as at August 5 marked KWAM 1’s presence at Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport
A video from the scene shows the singer standing in front of an aircraft, blocking it from taxiing, after airline staff allegedly stopped him from boarding because of a flask they believed contained alcohol.
The NCAA sought a full inquiry into the matter by submitting petitions to the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Inspector-General of Police
Police spokesperson DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi stated on Monday, August 12 that IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun has issued orders to the Commissioner of Police overseeing the Airport Command to launch a detailed probe, find out exactly what happened, and ensure justice is done.
Adejobi emphasized the Force’s commitment to safeguarding Nigeria’s aviation sector, vowing to strengthen collaboration with stakeholders for improved security and stricter enforcement of aviation rules
