Labour Party Chairman in Benue State, Mr. Sunday Oche, Tragically Killed in Igumale
A tragic event unfolded in Igumale Ward 1 of Ado Local Government Area, Benue State, where Mr. Sunday Oche, the Chairman of the Labour Party, lost his life in a brutal attack, allegedly carried out by armed herdsmen.
The incident occurred as Mr. Oche was returning from his farm, accompanied by five others. The group was ambushed, and in the ensuing violence, Mr. Oche was fatally shot. The others who were with him managed to flee, though they sustained significant injuries.
Tersoo Orbunde, the Publicity Secretary for the Labour Party in Benue State, confirmed the tragic news. He mentioned that Mr. Oche’s body has been recovered and preparations for his burial are underway.

Orbunde stated:
“He was the Ward Chairman from Igumale, Sunday Oche. He went to his cassava farm where he was attacked and killed. The body has been brought back.
“Our members have visited the family to offer their condolences, and we are awaiting further arrangements for his burial to see how we can assist. The incident has also been reported to the police for necessary action.”
