LASU Becomes Nigeria’s Most Preferred University in 2025 JAMB Report
There’s no denying it—Lagos State University (LASU) has set a new benchmark. According to the latest data released by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), LASU is now officially the most subscribed university in Nigeria for the 2025 admission year.
A total of 70,080 candidates selected LASU as their first choice. This puts the university ahead of the University of Lagos (with 58,645 applications) and the University of Ilorin (with 56,758), who ranked second and third, respectively. That’s not just a number—it’s a reflection of trust, reputation, and growth.
Now, here’s what makes this truly remarkable:

- In 2023, it placed third with just over 55,000.
- Before 2023, LASU hadn’t even made the top ten list.
