Nigerian Woman Accuses TikTok Date of Threatening Her With Private Photo
A young Nigerian woman has shared her experience online after what started as a harmless connection on TikTok reportedly turned into a disturbing situation.
According to her account, she met the man on TikTok roughly two months before her birthday. Their conversations were consistent and easy, and over time, they became comfortable enough to plan an in-person meeting. The man suggested they meet on her birthday and assured her he would make the day special.
However, things took an unexpected turn on the day they were supposed to meet. She said she tried reaching out to him but received no response for several hours. When he eventually replied, he claimed he had been arrested and was being held by the police.
She explained that the man pleaded with her for help and asked her to send ₦30,000, promising to pay her back when they eventually met. Despite never having met him in person before, she sent the money.
She later alleged that after their eventual date night, the same man threatened her using a private photo of her, an experience she described as shocking and distressing.
The story has since sparked conversations online, with many questioning how easily trust can be built through social media and how quickly it can be abused.
