Sirens Across Israel Triggered by Iranian Missiles as IDF Warns of Possible Hezbollah Barrage

Air raid sirens that sounded across central and northern Israel were triggered by ballistic missiles launched from Iran, and not rocket fire from Lebanon, according to the Israel Defense Forces.

Military officials said the latest missile salvo — the eighth since midnight — involved a small number of projectiles. Sirens were activated across central and northern Israel, as well as parts of the West Bank. Initial assessments indicate that most of the missiles were either intercepted or landed in open areas, with no injuries reported.

Emergency responders have been deployed to several locations to scan for impact sites, following reports that missile fragments fell after interceptions.

Shortly after, the IDF confirmed it had detected another ballistic missile launch from Iran, warning that sirens were expected to sound again in central Israel. An earlier attack — the seventh overnight — had also triggered alarms in the Jerusalem area and surrounding regions, with no casualties recorded.

At the same time, the military warned of a potential escalation from Hezbollah. According to Israeli assessments, the group may be preparing to launch a large-scale rocket barrage targeting both northern and central Israel in the coming hours.

The IDF said it is already taking steps to disrupt the planned attack and is on high alert, with air defense systems ready to intercept incoming rockets. Officials noted that the public warning was issued to maintain transparency, following criticism last week over a lack of advance notice before a major Hezbollah rocket and drone assault.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces carried out airstrikes in Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah positions. The military reported hitting rocket launchers in the Beqaa Valley, as well as multiple command centers in Beirut.

According to the IDF, the targeted launch sites had been used in previous attacks on Israel. Additional strikes were also carried out on weapons depots and other militant infrastructure across Lebanon.

The situation remains highly tense, with Israel facing threats on multiple fronts as the conflict with Iran and its regional allies continues to escalate.
