Tension Soars as Iran Fires Missiles at Bahrain, US Navy Base Reportedly Targeted

There are rising fears of a major regional crisis after Iran reportedly launched missile strikes on Bahrain, home to the United States Navy’s Fifth Fleet headquarters.

The attack is said to have followed earlier joint airstrikes on Iran by the United States and Israel, escalating tensions that have been building in recent days.

Authorities in Bahrain confirmed that missiles were fired toward the capital, Manama, with the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet headquarters believed to be among the targets. Residents reported loud explosions across the city, while thick smoke was seen rising into the sky shortly after the blasts.

The United States Navy Fifth Fleet, stationed at Mina Salman, plays a critical role in overseeing US naval operations across the Middle East and Gulf waters. While US officials acknowledged that some infrastructure in Bahrain was affected, it remains unclear whether the naval facility itself sustained direct damage. According to NBC News, there have been no reports of American casualties so far.

As the situation unfolds, the UK government has issued an urgent advisory to its citizens across the Gulf region. British nationals in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates have been urged to remain indoors, avoid unnecessary movement, and follow instructions from local authorities.

Airspace restrictions have since been announced in several Gulf countries and parts of Iraq. The United Arab Emirates, including Dubai, has reportedly suspended flights as security measures tighten.

Sources suggest Iran may be targeting multiple US military installations across the region in what appears to be retaliation. However, independent confirmation of the full scope of the damage is still pending.
