Tragic Boat Accident Claims Four Lives in Taraba State’s Ardo-Kola LGA
A boat capsized, leaving four women drowned in a tragic incident on the River Benue in Taraba State. The incident occurred on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, in the Mayo Ranewo axis of Ardo-Kola LGA.
Reports indicate that this is not the first time such an incident has occurred in the area, and previous accidents have claimed many lives of those traveling by boat.

According to eyewitnesses, the boat was carrying 30 passengers, traveling from Mayo Ranewo to Belango in Karim-Lamido Local Government Area. While several passengers were rescued, it was too late to save the four women who drowned.
The Taraba State Police Command, represented by James Lashen, confirmed the incident on Thursday. “We are aware of the incident, but we are waiting for full details. You will be updated once that is done,” he stated.
