Uorfi Javed, Nikita Luther Crowned Winners of ‘The Traitors’ Season 1
Reality show ‘The Traitors’, hosted by Karan Johar, wrapped up its debut season with Uorfi Javed and Nikita Luther emerging as joint winners, taking home a shared cash prize of over ₹70 lakh.
In a dramatic finale episode streamed on Prime Video, Uorfi and Nikita outwitted their co-contestants and successfully eliminated all remaining traitors, including Harsh Gujral and Purav Jha, in the final vote. They also voted out fellow innocent Sudhanshu Pandey, securing their position as the last two standing.
The climax saw key strategic moves, one of which occurred when Uorfi overheard Purav and Harsh discussing their next plan in the billiard room. This moment turned the tide, eventually leading to Purav’s exposure during the “circle of shaq” and his subsequent elimination.
Earlier in the finale, Apoorva Mukhija was shown the door during the opening round, while Jasmin Bhasin was ‘murdered’ in-game by the traitors on the last day, narrowing the finalists to Uorfi, Nikita, Sudhanshu, Purav, and Harsh.
Speaking after her win, Uorfi expressed surprise and gratitude, saying that being crowned champion as an innocent contestant felt like a strong response to those who underestimated her. Nikita, who had made a shocking early exit on Day 1 before making a comeback, was visibly emotional as she shared the title with Uorfi.
The total prize money of ₹70,05,000 was split equally between the two women.
‘The Traitors’ is the Indian adaptation of the hit Dutch reality series De Verraders, which has already been remade in the US and UK. The format places a mix of ‘Innocents’ and secretly selected ‘Traitors’ in a game of strategy, betrayal, and survival. Contestants must identify and eliminate the traitors before getting eliminated themselves—either by vote or in-game ‘murders’.
Season 1 featured 20 celebrity contestants including Raj Kundra, Jannat Zubair, Raftaar, Maheep Kapoor, Anshula Kapoor, Ashish Vidyarthi, Lakshmi Manchu, Mukesh Chhabra, Jasmine Bhasin, Apoorva aka Rebel Kid, Sudhanshu Pandey, Sahil Salathia, Sufi Motiwala, Karan Kundrra, Janvi Gaur, Elnaaz Norouzi, Harsh Gujral, Purav Jha, and Uorfi Javed.
Following the success of the first season, a second season has already been confirmed by the producers.
