What Killed Destiny Boy? New Autopsy Report Finally Reveals Truth About Nigerian Singer’s Death

The Nigerian singer, whose real name was Afeez Adesina, was only 22 years old when he died on January 17, 2026. At the time, no one knew exactly what happened—especially after disturbing videos from the scene started making the rounds online.

His family initially said he had been struggling with a long-term illness that caused seizures. But now, new details have come to light.

According to the Ogun State Police Command, an autopsy carried out by the State Criminal Investigation Department found dangerous amounts of tramadol and methamphetamine in his system. The medical report concluded that he died from aspiration pneumonitis, which happened as a result of ingesting those substances.

Police spokesperson DSP Babaseyi Oluseyi also confirmed that one person has already been arrested in connection with the case, and the investigation is still ongoing.

Destiny Boy first shot to fame back in 2019 after his Fuji-style cover of Davido’s song “If” went viral online.

He leaves behind his partner, Iremide, and their child, who was born in November 2024.
